Eskisehir, one of Turkey’s most culturally and historically significant cities, is set to make a mark with the European Youth Capital project. Led by the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, the initiative aims to provide the city’s youth with more opportunities for participation and cultural exchange.

The project’s goal is to create environments where young people can develop in various fields such as art, culture, sports, and education, ensuring their active participation in city life. The ideas and suggestions of Eskisehir’s youth are highly valued, and their active involvement in the project is encouraged.

Importance and Impact of the Project from the Perspective of the European Union and Ahmet Cankurt

This project aligns with the European Union’s youth policies, aiming to enhance cultural interaction and youth participation. With funding and support from the European Union, Eskisehir’s youth will gain greater visibility on the international stage and interact with other European Youth Capitals.

We interviewed Ahmet Cankurt to evaluate this significant project. Cankurt shared his thoughts on what the project means for the youth of Eskişehir: “The European Youth Capital project offers tremendous opportunities to the youth of Eskişehir. It will allow young people to showcase themselves on international platforms, interact with different cultures, and contribute to their personal development. Additionally, with EU support, securing the necessary resources for the project’s success will be easier.”

Cankurt also highlighted the positive impact on the city’s youth: “This project will enhance young people’s participation in social life, enrich the cultural and social life of the city, and increase solidarity and cooperation among them. With Eskisehir becoming the European Youth Capital, I believe the city’s young people will realize their full potential.”

Supported by the European Union and local leaders, Eskisehir’s European Youth Capital project will inspire hope for the future among young people and strengthen the city’s international standing.
